Update & Stuff

The week in review. The Linux class started at Pace University this week. I have seven guys in the class (in all the Linux classes I’ve taken & instructed, not one woman; go figure), and it seems like a good group so far. Pace has been a bit disorganized in having the materials, computers , software and server prepared, so I’ve been running around trying to pull everything together. Wednesday was a fire drill. I had to load the server with software so that they could do their software installation. It should have been done before the class even started last week. Anywho, the files finally completed copying over AS the students started doing their installations.
My own class (the database management course) still hasn’t met yet. I arrived last week to find that the instructor wouldn’t be in class the first week of School. She left a HUGE assingment for us, but when I got to class last night I was about the only one there. No School .. a Jewish holiday .. go figure.
It’s official. I’ve downloaded every good song on the Internet. Seriously though, if you know of any good electronic music/mixes, send me a title. I like stuff like Underworld (whom is playing their only NY date tonight at central park, and I’ll miss them), The Chemical Brothers, The Prodigy, BT .. etc. Anything with a really good drum/bass beat or trance like … either way, I’ll listen to it.
Weekend plans will include a Wedding on Sat, and perhaps a road trip on Sunday. Not sure yet. It’s 4:30 on Friday evening, and I’m having trouble thinking about anything but getting out of here and starting the weekend. I still have a ton of code to write over the weekend, but at least I can do it while I’m watching TV in my living room. Nassau Library System AND ASG Telecom both have large projects going on. I suspect I’ll be coding on them for a while. I have a new part-time coder working with GreenStar Systems which has been a HUGE help. He’s been doing the web stuff and I’m writing new telecom software. I’m writing software for a snazzy telecom Control Switch. If you check out the diagram It’s kind of cool .. in a geeky kind of way.
So .. thats about it. It’s about 5:00 and I’m bolting to the door. Have a good weekend
